Scorpions
are rather large Arachnids which are more closely related to spiders than they
are to insects. Some species are quite poisonous and all species can become a
big nuisance especially in homes that have just recently been built.
Scorpion Control
Outside
The first and most important step in control is to eliminate the scorpions
habitat. This could be stone and wood piles or left over construction debris.
After removing these materials spray a strip six feet wide around your entire
house and also spray 3 feet high on the foundation wall and spray all entry
points such as windows, doors, plumbing, etc. We recommend
Suspend SC for this. You should also treat the weep holes in the foundation and
around the plumbing and fireplaces with
DeltaDust.
Inside
Spray all the entry points from the inside with
Suspend SC . In addition to this it is a good idea to treat the electrical outlets and
around the plumbing with a good dust such as
DeltaDust.
Delta Dust can also be used in the attic to treat around the plumbing and
electrical fixtures.
Repeat
Treatment should be done monthly outside and inside in the rooms where
scorpions continue to be seen. Once scorpions have not been seen for 30 days
then inside treatments can be stopped. For all types of pest control outside
treatment can be repeated every 30 days if desired. We recommend the use of small
glueboards throughout the house. These work very well in catching any type
of small animal and will act as a monitoring device for entering scorpions.
