I would guess that your re-roofing may have coincided with the bugs' urge to hibernate, and they managed to sneak into your walls or attic, one by one, due to a temporary opening up of entry points. Do you remember the big cold spell in September? That could have triggered the hibernation instinct of this bug, although the search for hibernation spots may extend through October in the PNW. At this point, your roofers have probably left the bugs no exit points, except into the interior of your house. Kill them as they appear (the fact that you have the heat on confuses them - they think it is spring) and do not expect to see any more of them beyond next spring.
