Horsehair worm

Good work, Joe. Yes I do believe that you found a horsehair worm in your toilet. While they usually are longer than the worm you found, it could be that your worm left its host before fully developing. Perhaps it sensed that the host was dying. In any case, you have nothing to worry about, either with respect to your own health, or that of your cat. And you can honestly claim to have found a horsehair worm! I'm envious.
