I will certainly try the cold temperature method as soon as winter arrives in the NE. However, what chemical methods should I use in my strategy to be once again bedbug free? Is precor the best IGR to use on bedbugs, or is something else, such as Gentrol a better option? Has anyone EVER successfully rid themselves of this pest? I keep finding them everywhere.... : Lima, high temperatures are fatal to bedbugs. So are low temperatures. They are killed around 100 degrees F or below 48 F. : If you could leave your house for a few days during a cold spell, it could be the kiss of death for those pests. Be sure your pipes don't freeze, and houseplants may suffer if left in that kind of cold. : Also, if you could keep your house at 90 degrees for several days, it speeds up the metabolism of the bedbugs, which could die from dehydration and lack of blood in your absence. : Repeated cycles of extreme temperatures could also be very hard on the bedbugs, and hasten their demise. : PS: Glad to hear IGR's are being used in your house.
