Lima, high temperatures are fatal to bedbugs. So are low temperatures. They are killed around 100 degrees F or below 48 F.
If you could leave your house for a few days during a cold spell, it could be the kiss of death for those pests. Be sure your pipes don't freeze, and houseplants may suffer if left in that kind of cold.
Also, if you could keep your house at 90 degrees for several days, it speeds up the metabolism of the bedbugs, which could die from dehydration and lack of blood in your absence.
Repeated cycles of extreme temperatures could also be very hard on the bedbugs, and hasten their demise.
