are plentiful this time of year so I'll assume that's what you have (to save time). Rinse any fruit you have sitting out or bring in from the market to remove the eggs that are present on it.

To eliminate them quickly, use the hose of a canister type vacuum cleaner. Put piece of ripe fruit out and let them congregate. Turn the vac on and s l o w l y move the end of the hose toward the fruit (using a flashlight will help you to see them).
The critters will be drawn in and trapped in the bag. If any fly away just suck them right out of the air. They will not last long in the bag and will not breed there. Do this once every hour or so until they're gone.
