I just went swimming in Lake Superior for a few minutes in the Apostle Islands. I did see a few ducks on shore, and I did think about duck lice. I did not wade near shore, but when in as fast as I could. I still got about 10 duck lice welts.

As a child, we put vinegar on them. This works if one has scratched the welts and there is an opening for the vinegar to go, but it does not help the itch if the welt is not broken open.

I was searching the web for a new remedy. I guess there is none.
