We had bedbugs. The itching occurs anywhere from 2-6 hours. The first appearance is a small red spot or bump that does not itch but you know it's coming. Once the itch starts, it's worse than a mosquito bite but if you satisfy the itch til it no longer bothers you (scratching without
tearing the skin) the itch usually goes away the
next day (my experience). Perhaps, you have ticks
because bedbugs do not occur naturally in the wild. Ticks are associated with "the wild" (ie parks, state parks, large open spaces, etc). I've looked up ticks on the internet, they make larger spot & bumps but I do not know how long the itching continues.
