in between washes put a pint of water (enough to cover the drain) add some vinegar for freshness sake this will stay at the bottom of the dishwasher and will prevent ants coming up through the drain .you can leave dirty dishes there indefinately you will never see another ant in your dishwasher ,oh , don't forget to close the door
