: Every year these strange flying ants show up. They build nests in the tracks of my aluminum storm windows. The odd thing is that these ants carry nesting material with them (small twigs, grass clippings) and stuff them in my window tracks to make a nest, they then lay their eggs in my window tracks. I can tell they are there by the little pieces of grass/nesting material sticking out from the window frame. When I open the window all this nesting material blows around on my screens and the main flying ant flies around holding nesting material. They don't seem to be doing any damage and I can't plug up the area without preventing my storm windows from working. What the heck are these and how do I get rid of them? Sounds like Harvester Ants. You can spray with Ficam W and spray inside and outside the house. $39.00 a box makes 10 gallons. To order click on www.e-bug.net or call 1-800-226-8370 Sincerely, phyllis teel
