Tiny brown worms

We are having trouble in our home with tiny brown worms. They are mostly in the basement, but sometimes they crawl upstairs in the kitchen and living room. During the day I will look downstairs and I will see maybe 5 or 10 but at night I will see 50 - 75. We don't understand it. How do I get rid of them? Should I buy an insect bomb to kill them? Please help!!!
