Just wanted to let you know I too have been infested with these damn bugs here in Ohio. Had a sparrow's nest in my garage this spring, and that is when it started. But it has taken months to finally figure this out.

Here is how to capture some mites to take to an entomologist. Here in Ohio, the county extension service sends them to OSU for testing.

In a dark room where they are infesting, put a bright spotlight or lamp of some type right over a pan of how water. In a little while you will have some. You will need to use a good magnifier and have them silhouetted against the light's reflection, but eventually you will see them.

Scoop them up into a pill bottle and take them in to be checked.

This is by far, the worst thing I have had to deal with. The nights without sleep, the depression, the aching joints, the lost time from work, getting sick from all the insecticide spraying, the constant washing and vacuuming.

I don't wish this parasite infestation on anyone except for maybe Bin Laden. May the bird of paradise fly up his nose!

Tim
