Sounds in wall

We just noticed a scratching sound coming from the corner of a 2nd level bedroom. The corner is a ceiling, outside wall corner. The sound is not loud and seems to be confined to this corner. We went into the attic above it and removed the insulation down to the drywall but see nothing. The sound stops when we pound on the ceiling. We also looked on the roof and in the gutter, nothing.
What could this be?
