: : Think so? I didn't know ants lived in sewer pipes...
: : if what you say is true, wouldn't they show up near some other plumbing somewhere in the house?

: : sandra

: : : It's probably through the dishwasher discharge hose up from the sewer pipes!!?

: : : Ionel

: The discharge hose normally (though not always) goes to the garbage disposal in the sink. The entry point for the ants in my house to the dishwasher is through this hose. The ants climb to the sink, down the disposal, up the hose, and into dishwasher to get their ambrosia...

: Rinsing food off of the dishes will help. Killing the ants would be better.

: Dan

i am also having a terrible problem with the ants in the dishwasher. i do not have a disposal am on a septic system. they are however showing up in my washing machine which i do not know if it makes a difference is a front loader so it retains a certain amount of water even after the cycle is complete.
