I have found the same flys is my basement bathroom. Did you ever find out what they were or how to get rid of them. I seem to find 4 to 5 a day on the wall and easily kill them.

During the summer months we had an infestation of what I thought was drosophila (fruit flys). Next I have had black, wide winged. easy to catch, "flylike" insects. Originally I thought they were some type of fly, but they are not at all attracted to "pest strips". They do not seem to go to food. They side all over the walls. When I kill them, they leave a black mark on the wall. They are soft, stubby, wide varigated winged insects. Driving me nuts. Can't find where they're coming from.
