"Period size" bugs on me & clothing driving me crazy

I saw what I thought was a speck of black dirt on my arm the other day and went to remove it. To my shock it moved and very quickly. I couldn't squash it, only capture it with a wet tissue or the lint remover. Today, I captured 2 live ones on me and my clothing and they are on their way to the exterminator for identification. I found a few more after that. I checked through some of my clothing drawers and did not find any. I'm itching, too, but that may be more mental than anything else at this point. They are really no bigger than the period at the end of a sentence. I tried looking at them with a magnifying glass and looked much like a tick-like creature, but it is so tiny it was hard to be sure. It also seemed to have a clear head and pincers. If I get an answer I will post it here. Anyone else get an identification for a similar pest?
