Terrific!!! You found the mystery critter! I wonder if maybe there still could be a rat in there too....because they leave that "cigar/urinie" type smell behind and also they are nocturnal which squirrels aren't. You see, I had a rat problem a few months ago and the exterminator is still picking up dead straglers. I have lost sleep at night listening to their chewing on the baseboards inside my walls and scampering along the attic floor. I have come to know their odors. They leave a trail of pee and poo where ever they run. My "rat guy" tells me he has sealed up all holes in screens and attic vents yet I still get 1 or 2 every 3 to 4 weeks. Now I am at my wit's ends. I am afraid of going up in the attic.

I just wanted to say....I envy you folks being able to aquire such a precious house....WHAT A FIND!!!!!!!!!
