Scary Bug!!! What is it?

I saw this bug the other day, and have no way of identifying it. It still haunts me. I hope someone can identify this bug: It was about 4 inches long. The body was blackish grey, and like a tapeworm in the way it has the sections, but it was fatter and meaty. It had sharp pointy legs along its side. The head was armored like an ants, about the size of a dime. It had huge pinchers coming out the front by where a mouth would be. I poked it with a stick, and the thing attacked, and tried to bite the stick. OMG!! WHAT is this thing? Thank you
