Spiders in suspended ceiling

I'm refinishing a basement and getting ready to put in a suspended ceiling. I have some brown spiders that like to live in the trusses. What can I use that will be effective for a long time? I would like to have minimal odor and be safe for humans. Is Ficam D the best option?
