bed bugs or not?

: Hello, : I'm glad I found this site. Last night I discovered some bugs in my room and I'm not quite sure it they're bed bugs. The bugs are small but visible with the naked eye, and tear drop shaped. They have 6 legs as far as i can tell and they definitely have a mouth for sucking. however, they are not the color of bed bugs. they are black with white markings primarily on the lower part of the bug. They are not extremely flat, and I discovered them grazing atop my covers while I was sitting on my bed with the light on. : I did not find them clustered together I found them in different hours of the night one at a time. I set my alarm for 4:00 and got up to tear the covers off my bed and check my matress and found nothing. I found 4 of the mystery bugs throughout the night and the last one I found was at 9:00 in the morning. : *Other info* : My cat was sleeping with me, and I gave my dog a bath earlier that day. They could be ticks if I'm miscounting the legs... they look more like ticks to me. I do notice black specs in my bed but we are currently treating my cats for fleas which I have seen also. So the black specs can be from them, and I haven't noticed any dead bugs, skins, or red splotches. It looks like the bugs have antennas coming off of their long mouth. which I think looks longer than a bed bugs mouth. : Sorry this was long. I tried to just take a picture of the bugs but it didn't turn out. I really hope I don't have bed bugs any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Oh! and I live in southern ohio in a rural town.
