mites

My head has been itching, I feel things crawling & biting my scalp.I thought I had lice & treated myself. There wasn't any evidence of lice. I do find little cream/yellowish thing the size of a pencil dot. Can't see anything more than that?? My head did feel better after I treated it but then I put on a shirt I had previously wore & instantly felt them having a party on my head. I'm grossed out!! What are they & how do you get ride of them??
