*I awoke one morning with 2 blood marks under the skin on my wrist; which later swelled & blistered with pus atop the swelling. The Dr. diagnosed it as poison oak, a wk. later it was much worse & scarey. The Dr. still insisted that it was poison oak. I know my plants & what I did & what I pulled... no poison oak.I feared my wrist would rot. We have had many spiders this yr. and I thought perhaps it was a spider bite; I still don't know. But it occurred to me last night that maybe it was an earwig. Anyway, in desperationm my brother sugested I try making a paiste of a broccoli tablet (since they are recommended for healing ulcers) so I did. I merely disolved it in water, and after washing the area well with warm water & antibiaotic soap I applied the paste as one would calamine lotion. I covered it lightly with gauze & went to bed. In the a.m. the entire rash, blisters & swelling was 50% better!! After this great improvement, I did the same thing twice a day with the broccoli paste but started applying calamine OVER the dried brocceli paste to "seal" it on, and this worked very well (as the brocceli paste tends to crumble-off after awhile.) An inexpensive way to keep it covered yet aired was to get some new, freshly washed, white cotton sport sox, cut off the foot, and use the sock as a gauze on my arm at night or when in public, or when very busy & needed to not bump the area. I could see the improvement in the affected area each time I reapplied the home remedy. The Dr. had only reccomended Mycitracin to be "kept on it". This did not improve it, but seemed in the 1st wk to make it worse. I did use some mycytracine for maybe a couple hours a day in open air inbetween my remedy applications if & when new blisters popped; but washed it off before applying the brocceli paste & calamine. (Surely there was a bit of the residue from the mycytracine, but not enough to prevent the remedy from sticking; maybe enough to continue to do some good; I don't know.) I stopped using the brocceli paste a few days ago, and the ares looks fairly good but has not improved any more. I will go back to using it till the entire area is healed & see if it also takes down the rest of the swelling, scarring & scab.
I hope this helps many.
