We live in Duluth, MN. We live outside the city right next to Lake Superior and a river with lots of wood.
Recently, we discovered we have locust in our yard. Wasn't a big deal but now there are TONS. If you walk though our grass anywhere tons of them scatter.
After much research, it seems they are Carolina locusts. I can't find any information on how to get rid of them in a residential setting. Anyone have any ideas? Also, I read they are the least destructive. Do we need to get rid of them or are they harmless. They don't seem to be killing the grass. However, there are there are small hole all though our yard, like they are boring into the ground(to lay eggs maybe?).
Here is a photo of one of our "friends" we caught to figure out what it was.
Any info and help is greatly appreciated!
