I have a 90 foot tall cottonwood tree in my backyard, and a 110 foot tall birch in my front yard...both infested with aphids (and now as a result, about 3 different species of ants...but they stay outside, and dont bother me) I know that the aphids arent really harming the trees at all, but the honeydew is awful! With so many aphids, my pattio, pattio furniture, bbq, cars, etc. are COVERED in this sticky stuff. I've seen a few home remedies for this, but none that I can do to a 100 foot tall tree. Any suggestions? And if I have to call an exterminator, about what (roughly guestimated) would be the cost?
