: This is of a mature question concerning Gnats, im in long island NY nowhere near water. Im a nudist, was working in the yard stopped to relieve myself by a bush as i was doing my business bunch of gnats and i verified they were gnats started swarming the area. : Ive read online about gnat bites but not sure if i was bit somewhere i shouldnt have been bit but do i need to worry or rush to my dr? im scared after reading stuff online ***** I live in the shenandoah valley, in VA. we've got tons of water... res's, rivers, lakes, streams, ect. i'm more of an exobitionist, and have had a recent encounter with gnat bites EVERYWHERE! My male counterpart, also experienced bites in "odd" locations. We both looked like we had chicken pox for about 2 days, but as long as you dont scrath them they wont get worse... i find a warm, about body temp. bath with a concoction of 2 cups oatmeal and 1 cup baking soda seems to take the sting and itch away. BUT be aware if you start to get head aches, run a fever, or anythign else not normal... get to a doctor. there may have been more than gnats in that swarm and you want to make sure you dont have somethign funky. Good luck!
