I have the same problem. I think they are no see ums. I can feel them in my hair, face and arms especially. I have had the same problem with fruit flys at two places of work and had perceptible bites all over my arms and legs. That happens when the garbabge is not handled properly and coffee locations are not kept clean. If you get an infestation you may not be able to get them out. I can give you a tip for Houseflys, Blackflys, Fruitflys, though. The household cleaner, 409 works great and will take them right out of the air. It kills them almost instantly and is better than any other insecticide I have seen. The problem is that they propagate so fast that it barely makes a dent. I have no food or dirty dishes laying around so I don't know what is drawing them, other than me! My husband and grandson don't seem have a problem with getting bit or getting them in their hair. How do I get them out? I almost welcome spiders!
