little black bug

I have recently moved to an apartment here in lafayette, IN. I have found about four little black bugs. They are the size of two pencil points. I have looked up beetles and ants...i don't think it is an ant, because it only has two sections of its body. Could you tell me what kind of bug this is. I don't even know what type of spray to use. they are normally in the bathroom on the floor.
