wierd worm-like skin casing found

I have found a number of these dead skins of small wormlike creatures around my bedroom, and one small living one. These skins were found under a sheet "protecting" the box spring on my bed, and the living one was found on the floor of my closet. The living one I found was quite small, but caught my eye as it had rolled itself into a ball. Not until I looked closer and poke it did I realize it was still alive!

I was concerned they may be bed bugs, as they were found near the bed, but they do not fit their description of having large flat backs.

These things are colored with brownish red stripes interrupted by clear stripes. At one end there are some straight thin hair looking things, which lead me to believe they may be pinworms. At the other end appears to be a set of legs, but they do not appear to have legs across the whole body like a millipede/centipede, the legs only appear at the front end. The rear end of these things with the hair like appendages sticking off are also more thin than the rest of the body, also leading me to believe it is a pinworm.

I have tried to photograph the skin and now deceased worm like thing I found, but they are just too small to get good focus on.

Please contact me if you have an idea if what they may be and how to deal with them. Ideally I would like to take care of this problem on my own, spending minimal cash.
