Carpenter bees are harmless! Scary, yes, but they will not sting. They do not have a hive, but rather drill holes in the wood in which they lay their eggs in. The holes are perfectly round and are the size of their bodies. Treat the holes at night when they are inside with an aersol pesticide. Or, leave them alone and they will eventually die off until next year. THEY DO NOT ATTACK! : There must be a nest of carpenter bees under my stairs that go out to my backyard from our house. When we try to leave the porch 2 HUGE bees, yellow and black striped top with black solid bottoms come dive bombing at us. My children are scared to leave the deck and so am I! If we even go out and sit on our deck they hover above the stairs and watch us! It seems like they are ready to attack! We have to go down those stairs to get out to the yard but I'm afraid the vibrations of us going up or down will trigger the bees to attack us and since we have to out run the guard bees we can't go up or down slowly. I hate to kill them but I don't want my children, my dogs or me to get stung. : The nest is in a place where I would have to lay on the ground to get to it. Is there something safe that I can put under there that would get rid of them like a fogger or something I can roll under there? : Thanks, I appreciate everyones help!
