what the heck is it?

Hi - we have had lady bug problem, but I deal with it. they come in and cover walls. But now there is a beetle a little bigger than ladybug. It is brown, oval (not round) and has an orange "V" on it. Our east side of house outside is covered with them and they are getting in house through tiny holes around windows. A friend is coming to calk around windows. I can't have poison due to asthma of every family member and we have a cat and dog. I'm in Mass. - but they have been here year-round. I am putting many big flystrips called Revenge window flycatchers and I am getting a ton each day.
