Need help with "bug" problem

I keep finding small brownish-gold striped larva/small worms in my room. They are maybe 1cm long at the largest, most smaller, and don't have any feet that I can see, just a wormlike body. I found a couple dozen dead under my old carpet when I painted my room a few weeks ago. I threw the carpet out, and vacummed the bedboards and cleaned the floors. Since then there has been two occassions when ill find a few live ones crawling around. Usually on the floor or under something, like my matress.

I'm not sure what they are, I can't seem to classify them, and I really wanna know what to use to get rid of them. Anyone have an idea what I could be dealing with? I found many under my carpet and behind some damanaged baseboards when I painted my room.
