: I just had my worse nightmare come true. I have bedbugs! I am an extremely clean person so I am in absolute shock over this discovery. I haven't had much luck finding out how to get rid of them. I was told that you could kill them by freezing them for a certain amount of time, so I took out my living room furniture(thats where I found them) I put them on the back patio with a tarp over everything. I live in Idaho so it has been constantly below freezing for at least 3 weeks. Will this kill them? Bedbugs can be killed by feezing as long as they are kept chilled at least two weeks. However, there is a strong possibility not all of them were on the furniture you moved outside. At best they are extremely difficult to control. Hiring a pest contol company experienced in bedbug control may be your best bet. I recommend looking for a local firm instead of one of the national companies. You have a better chance of dealing with the licensed operator in charge who has a vested interest in providing the best possible service. Good luck!
