My bug sounds similar to several talked about here.

It's a very tiny round dark-colored fast little bug. It runs but does not jump. It crunches when you squish it on a hard surface. It appeared at the same time as a rodent infestation inside our walls.

I've narrowed it down to what I think it is... The tropical rat mite or the house mouse mite.

Controls I've heard of are:

(1) Get rid of the rodents, they can't breed on human blood. Once the rodents are gone, they'll eventually go away.

(2) Freeze affected fabrics for several days.

(3) Treat surfaces (including yourself) with enzyme solution.

(4) Wash everything washable in hot hot hot water, over and over again.

(5) Vaccuum and discard the bags.
