I basically drop each rodent into a bucket of Diatomaceous Earth and cover them with it then I put them back in the tanks and they shake and rub most of it off..killing anything in the process. Also gets a good amount of it mixed with their bedding. I do that once or twice a week. Then I just rub some on the cats ears and necks because that's the only place they've ever scratched. Can't do much more than that with it because of what it does to my lungs. On another board I'm on, people sprinkle it into the carpets and then vaccumm.. but they don't have mite problems. I don't know about natural enemies..the way these things multiply there's probably even too many for a tree frog. Maybe some kind of spider and they could get trapepd in the web? Even if the spiders multiply, a fogger might work which would be easier than getting rid of mites..
Tomorrow I'm trying Neem Oil for me and the dog. I posted on some rodent boards asking about foggers so if I come up with anything I'll post back on here. :)
