: The thing is, it is NOT consistent on when I am getting bitten. I think that I get them at night, but I also have gotten a few during the day it seems too. (Notice them where they were not later in the evening or so). : Also only one area has what could be called a 'row'..the other areas are scattered..aka they are bites near each other but no visible pattern. I also saw a picture of bed bug bites and it looks like they have 'centers' that open up? These are not open lesions/bites at all. They stay closed and then heal to be flat. : Lastly, we saw absolutely nothing on the bed when we were taking it apart, we even looked inside the boxspring where stuffing was coming out. I checked the sheets this morning for any spots of blood or marks, absolutely nothing (and we have white sheets so it'd be visible). : I still feel like this may have something to do with our trip to FL..we stayed in a 'winter' home which hadn't been used in months and it was kind of dirty when we got there and we had to do alot of cleaning. But I am just floored by the fact that I have seen NOTHING in the way of a bug or a spider or anything since we got back a week ago to even GUESS at what could be biting me. I can't get a sample of a bug I can't see. : The other thing that is surprising me is that our house is brand new, 2 years old and I have NOT been plagued with bites at all since we moved in which has been great. I have gotten maybe 2 spider bites the whole time we have been here because our master bedroom is on the top level and it just seems like bugs don't get up there as much. So this is even more irritating after 2 years of not being bothered as much as I have in previous homes by bug bites. : Do the bites themselves sound like anything specific? aka small bites, not spready but a round hardish raised bump that is reddish? I ruled out fleas and bed bugs because of the pictures I saw on how the bites themselves look? Is this not doable? : Sorry to be so unhelpful! The bizarre thing is I had something like this a few years ago and I never saw any 'bug' then either and suddenly after a week of being bitten (Different types of bites, more spiderish looking) they just stopped. It's almost more freaky when you have no idea WHAT is biting you because then it could be anything. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Although bedbugs can bite in a row they also bite sporadically, there really is no pattern. It's most likely you disturbed them during their feeding so they didn't get a chance to bite in neat rows. For example, you might have been tossing or turning in your sleep. The fact that the winter home was unoccupied for several months does not mean that there were no bedbugs present. Bedbugs can live for over a year with no blood meal. I would think Florida with it's year round ideal temperature for Bedbugs would survive very well. The other bugs you can look into that bite like this: Chiggers and Sandfleas. Spiders do not normally seek out to bite humans unless you disturbed them. Most certainly they do not bite you every night. Again they may not be coming from your bed, they maybe hiding somewhere in your room, suitcases, clothing, sidetable, lamps, just about anywhere. Although many people assume that bedbugs will take up residence in the bed it is not always the case. You cannot rule out bedbugs or fleas from the way the bites look on your skin.
