: : : : Hi there, : : : : Wednesday i woke up with bites on my legs, i'd say probably 7 or so, so whenever i got home from work i went to wash the bedding on the bed and found 2 little brown bugs crawling on the pillow, the same bugs that i keep finding in the bath tub. than i peeled off the sheets to find some more dead on the foam mattress. i than pulled off the mattress and found a few more live ones. so i threw out the foam matress, vacummed the regular matress and put new bedding on, this morning (thursday) i wake up to a few more bites on my legs but 12 bites just on my butt! YES 12!!!! it has to be these little brown things. and no they aren't fleas, my dog is on frontline so she doesn't have fleas, and these things don't jump. please help! i'm not sleeping in my bed tonight!!! i can't handle these bites, they look like mosquito bites and feel like them too. : : : : thanks so much. : : : : angie : : : : : : First, please keep a sample of the bug(s) so they can be positively identified before any type of treatment for pest control. This will also help your cause if you are renting. Put it in a plastic bag then in the freezer. Take the bugs to an entomologist at your local university or museum or pest control company(make sure they are experience in bedbugs though). Next get treatment for them asap. : : : From your description they sound like bedbugs, and it doesn't matter if your sheets are clean because they may be coming from elsewhere. : : : Sorry you have to be going through this. Good Luck! : : Well thank you for your reply, but why would they be in my bathtub if they were bed bugs? i've been seeing them in my bath tub for probably 3 or so weeks, i've only seen them in my bed for the past few days... : : This is only a guess, if you live in an apartment building they could be coming from next door, above or below your unit. Particularly if these other units have been sprayed. I'm guessing that perhaps there is an opening in your bathroom that they might somehow be migrating to your unit via water pipes, exhaust vents, and heating ducts or through the wall or under your bathtub. Look carefully in these areas and see if you can find an opening that they are coming through. well thank you, yes i do live in an apartment, i'll have to do some investigating.
