: Hello Everybody,
: It seems like every time I pull a book off my shelf there is at least one very small white bug
: about the size of this dash - that is running around inside the front or back cover of the book.
: This is the first year that I've had this problem. However, I brought several bags of books
: from my folk's house in Minnesota last January (stored in a sub-zero cross-country car trip).
: But another possible cause could be that I lived in student housing last summer and had no
: air conditioning. It was very hot and humid.
: Anyway, my questions are
: 1. What are these bugs?
: 2. Where do they come from?
: 3. How do I get rid of them. - natural means prefered. like cleaning, bleach, etc.
: Thanks much for any advice.

: This is a great forum. I'm glad I found it.
: Happy Thanksgiving to everybody!

what you have are psocids(commonly called booklice). they like old books and other starchy things with high humidity.
natural prevention includes a fan blowing on infested area, a dehumidifier, sunlight, open air, etc.
foggers(a pesticide)will knock down the population in a short time
