Flea like bugs under and on my sidewalk

I am seeing thousands of tiny (smaller than flea) like bugs between my sidewalk cracks and all on the concrete. They hop like a flea when you go to smash them against the sidewalk or press them with your finger. They are small and get right into the grit of the sidewalk to keep from getting squished. If you dig away the dirt in the sidewalk cracks they come out in tons so they are nesting in that dirt.
If you catch them and look closely they have a dual antenna and a grey like body one piece I think. They are so small it is hard to tell. You need a magnifying glass to see them closely. They almost look like baby spiders crawling all over the sidewalk.
Maybe someone can help me identify these so I can figure out what to use to kill them. A powder that was told good for carpenter ants do not seem to be fazing these tiny bugs.
