Everyone reacts differently to bed bug bites so I can't answer from the bites. I agree that your best bet it to capture one (maybe freeze it to death so as not to disort it) and have an exterminator look at it.

That said, I can try to help some if you give some more details. Besides the bites, bed bugs have 3 main signs - 1) drops of blood on the sheets from when they 'drink' too much and lose a little on the way back, 2) black/brown excrement on areas near (but not at) where they hide, often on bedskirts or the side of a mattress, box spring, or bed frame, and 3) occassionally a sweet/buggy smell in the room.

Also, the ones you've killed, are they very flat and difficult to squish? Bedbugs are.

When you've killed them, have they often been very bloody? Leaving a good amount of black goo on your hand for something that size? Bedbugs that have recently eaten will be quite bloody and you will likely have killed a couple like htat.

If you don't see any of the main signs, then I wouldn't be worrying too much about bedbugs, but keep your eyes often. I'd also recommend you do a search for bed bugs on Google and read up a little, to see what they look like and what their signs looks like.
