: : : : I also have these bugs in my tub. There is no spaces under my home and I don't have pets. The best thing to work so far is liquid dish soap. I also have tried every kind of household cleaner and my bugman comes once a month. I also have pest tubes in the walls of my house yhat are filled with spray every month. I don't know what to do! : : : : : I have had these bugs as well, but in my kitchen. They seem to be attracted to my sink. Nothing kills them and they keep coming back. Any idea how to combat them? : : : : : : Hey guys... I was just outside doing some yardwork and the bugs are in my lawn. When I washed off the patio they came hopping on to get some water. I wonder if they're coming through the pipes or if animals are bringing them in? I made an appointment with the Bug Man... ;) : : : : : : : I have the bugs in my bathtub too. They hopped when you got close enough to touch them. I have tried Raid and Bleach as well. If anyone knows how to get rid of them or where they might be coming from, please let us know. I guess I'll be calling the bug man tomorrow. Icky. : : : : : : : : : Has anyone figured out what the tiny bugs in the tub are? If you squish them, there is a reddish-brown color to them. I am now seeing some on a wall in a bedroom. What are they? And, how do we get rid of them? : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : If you lightly touch these bugs, do they hop vigorously to get away? : : : : : : : : : : : : : I have these same bugs...they do hop to get away. : : : : : : : : : : : : : It seems like bug killer does not do anything to them either. ANy idea what they are? : : : : : : : : : : : : : Thanks, : : : : : : : : : : : : : Carl : : : : : : : : : : : : I have super tiny little black bugs in my tub this past week too. They don't seem to hop like fleas and are smaller than any fleas I've seen. Any idea what they are or how to get rid of them for good? : : : : : : : : : : : : ML : : : : : : : : : : : I have tried the bleach twice and all kinds of RAID killers -nothing seems to work - I am a regular "tub scrubber so the tub is clean" nothing is working ! Any other ideas? : : : : : : : : : : i have them to have sent some to pest control to find out what they are i'll keep you all posted. : : : : : : : : : : : : : I've got them as well, but they seem to be small black fleas. We usually see five to ten at a time. We've been told that something from under the house (i.e. dog, cat, opossum) may have been underneath the piping. I've closed off all openings underneath our home. Unfortunately, with two pest control visits and sprayings to the affected area - the fleas are still around. We're calling the pest control company back - mb. : : : They are probably just springtail fleas, which aren't fleas at all, they're arthropods. They are driven into a home during periods of wet weather. They don't bite, don't carry disease, and won't lay eggs in your carpeting. They like moist areas and eat fungi and mold. Once in the house, they will nest in drains, and other moist places. You can kill them by cleaning window sills, bare floors and door thresholds with bleach diluted in water, about 1 capful bleach to a gallon of water. You can get them out of your drains with any ENZYME based drain cleaner. That will clean the sludge out of the pipes and remove the food source. Only ENZYME based cleaners will work. : : : : I have them too!!! We live in Kansas, and have been getting a lot of rain. So, maybe it is true, "they are driven into our houses during periods of wet weather." Are we sure they are Springtail fleas... that cause no harm? Hmmm. I too have used the Raid for Fleas+ and mopping with a solution of Dawn dishsoap and bleach water. Nothing has cut it. If anyone finds something that works please let me know, as I have a five month old who is getting ready to crawl!!! Yikes! Nothing makes a mother more disgusted than having bugs like this in the same vacinity as a baby! : We have just recently built our condo. We have been having an awful time getting rid of these springtail bugs. We have had the exterminator out several times. These tiny bugs don't seem to be phased by anything!!! Enzyme based drain cleaner, bleach, spectracide.....none of whatever the bug man sprays!!!!! They even suggested we spread granular bug control in our grass and our mulch beds. We have tried everything and nothing is working!!!! We are ready to move! If anyone has any idea how to get rid of these, please let me know!!! I would really, really appreciate it!!! I have these bugs in my whole apartment. They started in the bathroom, then the bedroom and now they are in my kitchen. I'm afraid to even cook now because I don't want them in my food. I have tried everything that everyone else has, even the vinegar down the drains. Something has to work. Someone please help!
