: : I'm understanding that part of the dilemma here resides in that there is a mental illness called Delusionary Parasitosis where the individual believes they are infested with bugs and so individuals with Morgellons are getting the "Go see a shrink" bit. Then I read that when one person has Delusionary Parasitosis and a family member or close friend gets it, it is called a folie au deux. Now, with all of your med school training please tell me which situation would be more common. Number one that someone became mentally ill because they knew another mentally ill person or two, that the Delusionary Parasitosis is really Morgellons Disease and its extremely CONTAGIOUS. Remember: People with Delusionary Parasitosis imagine bugs are everywhere while we with Morgellons CANNOT FIND them even though our lives DEPEND on it. Please do not tell your patient that you cannot diagnose what you can't see. Most likely we will not have black grains attached to our skin or fibers emerging from our bodies the exact time we have an appointment with you. Please tell us that the next time we experience this to come directly to your office and wait until you have a free moment to examine it even if that is all you have time to do. Please submit samples to the CDC as I understand they have virtually none. Anybody know where I can post this where more doctors will find it as I doubt that one would here but I am desperate and anything is better than nothing.
