: Everytime our shower floor gets wet, these black worms about 1/8th inc. long come out of the grout in the seams, of which we have noticed that there are cracks in the grout here and there. We never saw these worms until we had a cleaning lady come in our home, and after she left we noticed them that same nite, first it was just a couple, now it is every time we shower. Do you think she brought these to our home, or could she have stirred something up, she said she used a whole bottle of Lime Away on our shower stall (we have very hard water, and the build up was pretty bad). What do you think these worms are? Possibly termites?

From my research, I have found them to be possibly horsehair worms. THey look exactly like what I see IN MY SHOWER! GROSS! I bleach them, they come out in scads and then I use toilet paper to pick them up, flush them. They are hanging out under the metal part of my shower door frame. This is DISGUSTING! I've never seen these my entire life and showers aren't anything new.?????
