hello, i wanted to respond to this post because like so many others on this forum it's the same story over and over again. i am on month 3 of this ordeal and it's killing me. it started in september when i moved into this apartment. i had bought furniture from the previous tenants. i get these imaged of the person who slept in my bed scratching himself but im not sure if im making those up. i stayed in a hostel for a week before moving in here. it was fairly clean but i will never dismiss that they might've come from there. not pointing any fingers i decided to just take care of it myself. which is freaking impossible. im in school all day and have no time for this. it requires a lot of work to have your clothes cleaned efficiently and having the place cleaned at the same time. i had a fumigator when it first happened and there are still clothes in garbage bags which im terrified to open. for a while i dismissed the fact that if you cant see them they dont exist. i didnt think the babies could take up residence in your skin like they have on me now. i feel them all day. and the big boys are sitting in the walls. my apt. manager has blamed everything on me for buying this furniture. he wont spray the whole building, probably too terrified to confront everyone about it and cause inconvience. until then the problem will persist forever. i paid for a fumigator and they are garunteed to come back for 6 months which i will redeem more times. this month my apartment manager offered for his fumigator to come because he was going to be in the building anyways. i asked if he was coming back for bedbugs and he said no it's other bugs. which is great to know as well. probably cockroaches. i stopped using kwallada lotion because it will make you itchy for months. i use a lot of tea tree oil and lavender to no avail. i sprayed it on everything. last week i started getting more bites. i bought vinyl coverings for my bed which helps me sleep more comfortably but by no means is this taken care of. i need another spray by the fumigator even though it smells so bad. i can smell the bug poop in my bedroom. i know that's what it is. a methane gas, egg fart type smell. how will this smell ever go away?
i just bought a bottle of kleen free in desperation. i've had a serious case of insomnia and it has gotten in the way of my life. im a permanent grump now. it's scary! thank god my floors arent carpeted. please email me to talk if you have time. i need friends. : Hey Denise, have you tried Kleen-Free? some 6 months ago I was having the same nervous breakdown with the bedbugs. I searched through the net and found this product. It's completely natural and non-toxic. Best of all is that it's completely free. It also comes with some information about bedbugs and how to eliminate them. Well, if you have tried everything already, give this a chance. I'm sure you won't regret it! : Mario : : : : Denise- : : : If you got your bed in February and are only getting bit 6 weeks ago, it's likely that they are in your apartment and in your building. : : : The entire building probably needs to be treated - otherwise they just come back. In my building, they spread from 1 unit that brought in a mattress to 7 other apartments, including some in the adjoining buildings. : : : Just a warning about sleeping in the living room. The bedbugs could follow you there - it's happened to many on this board and many in my building. They're hungry and track the carbon dioxide you breathe out when you sleep. If they make it to the living room, that creates an entire new room that you will have to quarantine. : : : Bedbugs suck. I nearly had a nervous breakdown in the 6-month process of trying to get rid of them. As Dan said, educate yourself and your landlord and your neighbors (check with them - mine all thought they had spider bites or allergies or something). Get a specialist exterminator and expect at least 3 treatments. Ours drilled holes in the walls for poison foam. : : : Good luck. : : Thanks BBSlope! I'm doing alot of google search on those vampires until i'm tired. The exterminator comes every 3rd Wednesday of the month. They already did one treatment. So tomorrow the exterminator is going to treat my room again... My building manager asked me if i have dogs. I don't have a dog, so i don't know where she's coming from! I bought a Raid fumigator yesterday. I don't know if that can help also. It seems as if management want to sweep it under the rug. There's alot of holes in my floor also. The super suppose to fix that tomorrow also. He's been giving me the run a round since i found out about the bugs. One of friend told me not to ask other tenants if they had previous problem with bugs. I'm still going to ask, because i have to get to the bottom of this huge mess, its just driving me nuts
