Yes, the moth balls with the long chemical name do, when sealed in a bag for several days. The "old fashioned" type do not. I have had a bird mite infestation for over two years now.

I keep all my cleaned clothes in sealed plastic, and then iron them on high heat with steam before wearing.

If you decide on a fogger to spray, try and find the Spectracide fogger that has Tralomethrin .09%. This is very effective against them. I also have been using Sevin in a spray bottle, it works as well as the Malathion did, with no smell. Sevin 5% dust is good for cracks and crevices, as well as carptet. I have it sprinkled on my carpeting in my car.
