We call them "love bugs" around here:

: The flies are doing their seasonal mating thing, with the males circling around, hovering and darting about, especially in summer. They should go away, eventually...

: : We're being "bugged" by groups of swarming small black flying insects! They don't bite or land on anyone. All they do is fly around in circles all day hovering around the patio & garage doors and when they get in inside the garage and house. They are very tiny with clear tear drop wings and six legs. They are an absolute nuisance!! Bug zappers and the like don't effect them. I'm tired of fighting a path through them. I can't figure out what is attracting them.

: : Does anyone know what they are, why they congregate where they do and especially, how to get rid of them?

: : Thanks, N.S.
