: April, please read all the information you can on bedbugs. There is a lot on this forum and elsewhere on the net. Also take your daughter to the doctor so he/she can assess what type of bite or skin condition that is causing the swelling. The doctor may be able to prescribe some medication for the itch and swelling. Dust mites do not bite.

Did you ever find anything to answer your question? My son is experiencing the exact same thing and I can't figure out what is causing it.
