For the past year and a half, I have been suffering with mites on me. When I moved into my apartment on 10/1/02, I noticed I started to feel something crawling on me that I could not see with the nake eye. Thinking it was my newly purchased mattress (after watching 20/20 and Dateline about purchasing infested mattress), I took my mattress back and received a new one. Within that week, I was experiencing the same problem. Something was crawling on my skin. Whatever it was, it had manifested itself in my pubic area, eyelids, eyebrows, eardrums, nose, and head-hair. I thought I had contracted crabs or lice, but I said, a person can see lice? Anyway, I went to the doctor and was told, you have a yeast infection, if you are itching in your pubic area. Stop eating bread with yeast in it and drink plenty of water, and stop shaving, just trim. I did all that to no avail. Then I went to a dermatologist who misdiagnosed me with ezcema and urticaria (chronic hives) and she prescribed Zurtex and told me to use Aveeno soap and lotion. My subconscious mind said, "wait a minute!" I suggest you look this urticaria up on the web. I did and those colossol pictures of oatmeal patches of welts on people's bodies, I did not have. I said well let me shampoo my carpet. After shampooing my carpet, the next morning I got up and walked from my bed to the kitchen and while sitting on the side of my bed, which is up against a window with a tree with birds, I could feel an army of something crawling up my legs. I freaked out. I concluded that whatever it was, it's in the carpet. I called a fumigator to no avail. I had the fumigator come out twice to no avail. And at this very moment, I have to keep a bottle of Drop Dead Flea Tick spray in my hand, like a baby kepts a pacifier. I purchased plastic rug runners to no avail. However, I did learn that if birds and pigeons are nesting in surrounging trees and in your attic/loft, you're fighting a never-ending battle. All nests have to be removed and trees trimmed back. Well, unfortunately, I live in an apartment and my landlord thinks I am just allergic since no one else is complaing. Personally, I feel some people don't realize they may have mites on them. Sometime in April 2004, I was watching Oprah's show, who had a germ specialist that talked about dust mites and suggested that Benzil Benzoate would get mites off of you. I purchased this product off the net from The Eye of Newt.com and it works, but Jesus, you have to remove the source or else you will keep infesting yourself. Further research indicated that Bifenthrin, Meticide, and Aerosol Insecticde will kill bird mites. Unfortunately, I don't know what I am dealing with. I have since called the health department who came out and took samples which is pending to date. I have concluded that I must vacate the premises cause this is too much to endure. FYI check out this website http://naturalginesis.com/id77.htm.

PS. I have used the following to no avail: De-mite, De-mite laundry detergent, Borax, Tannic Acid, Steri-Fab, and a fumigator. As mentioned about, Benzil Benzoate works to get them off you.
