Since mites are just really tiny arachnids (related to spiders), pinpoint-sized, and without "horns" or "snouts," you probably just have little weevils. You may have to throw out any contaminated or at-risk food and replace with fresh food kept in jars or plastic containers with tight seals (any gaps, no matter how small can allow beetles or mites to enter). Once your shelves are cleaned, there should be nothing for the beetles to live on. They are otherwise harmless, if a bit disturbing.
