The heat is a good idea but you must not allow the bugs to spread to other people's belongings. Using a public storage unit may enable this senario to unfold:

You rent a space and move your stuff in. The bugs
get hot, hungry, and thirsty, leave your unit and infest adjoining units. The person(s) next to you move their stuff out before all the bugs can die.
Now they have the problem and blame the storage facility. Eventually they realize it came from your unit and want to hold you responsible. I've seen this happen with cockroaches. It makes a real mess. An isolated truck is better.
